Our Olive Oil

Our 900 olive trees are spread over 3 hectares. About 60% are of the native Bianchera (Belica) variety. The remainder is from another local cultivar, the Buga, as well as Leccino, Maurino and Moraiolo. And various experimental plants of all the Friulian varieties that resisted the cold of 1929. We produce 3 types of oil, a mixed one, the Buga in purity and the Tergeste DOP oil: a pure Bianchera that is also a Slow Food presidium as well as being the only DOP of our province.

The harvest is manual, the olives are pressed within 12 hours of harvesting, the pressing is cold and filtered, and all these processes contribute to preserving the characteristics of the oil in the best possible way over time. Our oils have received important awards – such as from the Veronelli Guide and the Slow Food Oil Guide – and won various international competitions.
